Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day in Bethesda, MD seeks a part-time Development and Events Specialist to diversify revenue streams and streamline fundraising processes. The role emphasizes leadership in philanthropy, campaign planning, and donor stewardship within a hybrid work setup.

The position focuses on advancing equity, cultivating relationships, and coordinating community events, with 25 hours weekly at a Bethesda location.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree required.
• 4+ years of direct experience in nonprofit development.
• Working knowledge of development CRM is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); WordPress and social media experience preferred.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to draft high quality written materials and correspondence.
• Commitment to equity and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to advance philanthropic investment and engagement.
• Develop the annual development plan with the Board Advancement Committee.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts through strong communications and community presence.
• Plan and execute community engagement events and campaigns.
• Oversee gift processing, data input/analysis, and acknowledgments.
• Maintain CRM system and provide reports to committees and leadership.
• Understand the business model and value of early care and education.
