Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a part‑time, ongoing temporary role in the Portland area. You will own the close process, produce financial statements, and act as a trusted resource to leadership while collaborating with a knowledgeable accounting team.

This 20–25 hours/week position offers flexible scheduling and a chance to impact a mission‑driven nonprofit directly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is required.
• Strong month-end close, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience.
• QuickBooks experience.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing account activity and providing oversight across the accounting function.
• Completing month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Preparing financial statements and monthly reporting for leadership.
• Monitoring budget activity and explaining revenue and expense variances.
• Supporting audit preparation and responding to auditor requests.
• Reviewing payroll, banking activity, and fund transfers.
• Providing guidance on accounting questions, internal controls, and special projects.
