Clarke County Hospital (CCH) is seeking a part-time Van Driver for Patient Access Transport in Osceola, IA. The role focuses on providing prompt, safe transportation for patients, volunteers, and staff while adhering to traffic laws and hospital policies.

The position supports clinical staff, ensures continuity of care during transport, and performs safety checks and routine vehicle maintenance. Flexibility to assist departments as needed is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, safe transportation for the patient, volunteers and staff during the transportation process.
• Practice defensive driving at all times and always adhere to all traffic rules and regulations
• Assists the clinical and registration staff to assure continuity of care for the patient prior to and during the transportation process as indicated/requested
• Use critical thinking and follows transportation protocols and processes to validate the appropriateness for each trip.
• Provides safety checks to transport van prior to transporting, at the start of each shift.
• Reports deficiencies, malfunctions and/or needed repairs and regular maintenance to manager.
• Restocks, cleans, refuels the patient transfer van as needed, assuring the van is prepared for the next transportation of passengers.
• Provides support to assigned CCH department(s) when not actively providing NEMT patient transportation, or related Transport Van Driver Duties, during any scheduled shift.
