Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years of professional/practical experience in the relevant field or activity.
• Demonstrated experience teaching, mentoring, or working with high school-aged youth.
• Strong alignment with the goals of the U-Period program and a commitment to Urban School.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must reside in and be legally authorized to work in California.

Responsibilities

• Lead non-credit elective courses for groups of up to 20 high school students.
• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive activities tailored to a diverse student body across mixed grade levels.
• Maintain active, supportive, and structured classroom environment in line with U-Period goals.
• Regularly communicate with the Dean of Student Activities regarding instructional needs, attendance, and administrative requirements.
• Accurately log hours worked, including classroom instruction, setup, and cleanup.
