Job summary

San Francisco Community College District invites applications for a Child Development & Family Studies Instructor in the non-credit program. This temporary, part-time pool position involves teaching in-person noncredit courses across campuses and community locations, preparing curricula, maintaining student records, and supporting diverse learners.

The workload-based compensation is aligned with the CCSF Faculty Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include diverse student populations experience and the required degree plus two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person noncredit courses to practicum students, parents, interns, field work students, student observers, assistants, and other adults at campuses and community locations.
• Plan curriculum and organize the environment for parent education, practicum and lab aid students and laboratory child development settings.
• Teach in-person day, evening, and/or Saturday classes at various campuses/sites and substitute as needed in non-credit programs.
• Create student-centered classroom and lesson plans reflecting approved department outlines.
• Teach courses using Canvas or college-provided systems.
• Assess student progress with syllabi, grading, lesson plans, activities, and outcomes.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Family and Consumer Studies with specialization in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, Educational Psychology with specialization in Child Development, Elementary Education, Psychology, or Family Life Studies; AND two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education
