Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a part-time chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families and staff. The role includes on-call rotations, prayer and counseling, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team across service areas.

The position requires a completed graduate degree (MA or MDiv), clinical chaplaincy experience, and ACPE-endorsed or eligible board certification. Night shifts and Sundays are included in the schedule.

Qualifications

• Completed graduate degree (MA, MDiv) in religious studies, theology, divinity or related field.
• Prior clinical experience as a chaplain: 3 years.
• Eligible for board certification as a chaplain: APC/BCCI, NACC, NAJC; completed within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers holistic spiritual care for patients, families, team members and physicians.
• Responds to codes, emergencies and crises; supports families and patient safety.
• Participates in department/site coverage including weekends and holidays; engages in committees.
