Job summary

NaphCare is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a part-time, 12-hour shift at the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role involves initial health screenings, nursing assessments, medication administration, and direct patient care for the correctional population.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care while adhering to facility policies. The ideal candidate holds an active RN license in the state, BLS CPR certification, and a flexible

Qualifications

• Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within the state.
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required).
• Knowledge of nursing practice principles, safety standards, and applicable health care laws.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed.
• Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and nursing assessments.
• Monitor and document patient health, vital signs, and medical histories.
• Administer medications and treatments and monitor patient response.
• Provide direct patient care, triage needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and clinical documentation.
• Follow correctional facility security protocols and promote safety.
• Support continuity of care and discharge planning.
