Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at the Montgomery County Jail in Dayton, Ohio. Full-Time Day Shift and Full-Time Night Shift with shift differential are available. You will perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate care for patients with diverse healthcare needs.

New grads are encouraged to apply as training is provided in correctional healthcare. You’ll work with medical providers, nursing staff, and correctional colleagues to deliver

Qualifications

• Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within the state.
• Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required).
• Knowledge of nursing practice, safety standards, infectious disease management, and applicable healthcare laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Monitor and document patient health, vitals, histories, and condition changes.
• Administer medications and treatments and monitor patient response.
• Provide direct patient care, triage needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, hypertension, diabetes).
• Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other staff.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle choices.
