Martha’s Vineyard, Grand Rapids’ premier fine wine and gourmet grocery store, is seeking a Part-Time Night Shift Cashier/Merchandiser to deliver excellent customer service while keeping shelves stocked and organized. The role fits fast-paced retail environments with eye for detail and customer engagement.

Responsibilities include cashier operations, merchandising, stock rotation, and assisting with deliveries. Schedule is Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 2pm to 10pm; 18+ years required.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience is required.
• Retail cashier or merchandising experience preferred.
• Ability to work the 2pm–10pm shift on Mon, Sat, Sun.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow food safety procedures.

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service at checkout and operate the POS system.
• Handle transactions, returns, and exchanges per store policies; assist with product recommendations.
• Stock, organize, and rotate products; maintain clear signage and pricing.
• Assist with deliveries, keep the store clean and visually appealing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Martha’s Vineyard, Grand Rapids’ premier fine wine and gourmet grocery store, is seeking a Part-Time Night Shift Cashier/Merchandiser to provide excellent customer service and keep our store well stocked and organized. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment, has an eye for detail, and loves engaging with customers.

What You’ll Do

As a Night Shift Cashier/Merchandiser, you’ll be a key part of our Store team, providing exceptional customer service, working as part of a team, and helping to keep the store stocked and organized. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Customer Service & Cashier Operations

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service at checkout.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
• Handle transactions, returns, and exchanges in accordance with store policies.
• Answer customer inquiries and assist with product recommendations.

Merchandising & Store Maintenance

• Stock, organize, and rotate products to ensure shelves are neat and well-stocked.
• Maintain proper signage and pricing for products.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing.

Misc.

• Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous customer service experience is required.
• Previous retail, cashier, or merchandising experience preferred.
• Friendly and customer-focused individuals who enjoy engaging with people.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow food safety procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Must be able to work the required schedule (Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 2pm – 10pm).
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Minimum of 18 years of age required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Requires the use of hands for reaching, touching, or handling and fine finger movements.
• Requires the ability to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 50 lbs. frequently
• Requires the ability to bend, kneel, squat, stoop, walk, and stand for duration of shift.
• Work is performed in a retail store with quiet to moderate noise level.
• Frequently exposed to cold and hot conditions (non-weather).
• Frequently exposed to wet, slippery, or damp conditions.
• Frequently exposed to and requires the use of equipment with sharp blades or edges.
