Job summary

Duke Health Cary is opening Spring 2027, expanding imaging services with ultrasound capabilities. The position covers Sunday 6:30pm–7am, 12-hour shifts, part-time third shift, with rotating holidays; you will perform and interpret diagnostic ultrasound exams and support the radiology team.

Required ARDMS certification within 18 months, RDMS/RVT preferred, BLS, and 2+ years’ experience for higher levels. Duke prioritizes safety, training, and professional growth within Imaging services.

Qualifications

• Graduate or completion of program meeting registry eligibility.
• ARDMS certification within 18 months of hire.
• Level II: 2+ years of sonography experience; Level III: 4+ years in specialty.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
• Communicate results to radiologists and healthcare team.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Maintain equipment and assist with daily ultrasound department operations.
• Train ultrasound students during clinical rotations.
