As a Part-Time Night Custodian, you will ensure existing facilities are kept clean, safe, and well maintained.

How You Will Impact Education

Instruction/Education Responsibilities

• Clean Assigned Areas including interior spaces such as hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, multi-purpose rooms, and any other area assigned by supervisor.
• Clean exterior areas such as the perimeter of the school building, parking lot, playground, windows, and other areas assigned by supervisor.
• Empty trash from all receptacles.
• Dust furniture, window sills, air vents, and other areas assigned by supervisor.
• Clean and sterilize restroom facilities.
• Clean up bodily messes including vomit, feces, urine, and blood in accordance with training.
• Remove waste in cafeteria for breakfast and lunch, assist with cleaning cafeteria tables, and keep cafeteria floors clean.
• Sterilize high-use areas to reduce bacteria spread.
• Assist Head Custodian with cleaning projects and tasks.
• Help develop and monitor preventative maintenance processes for facility components.
• Travel to nearby schools or warehouses if required.
• Participate in training programs to improve skills.
• Stay informed on current janitorial practices and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Perform other duties as delegated by Supervisor.
• Always carry a hand-held radio if assigned, stay on school property during work hours, and report emergencies.
• Do not leave campus without permission from supervisor.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; ongoing education in construction or facilities preferred.
• At least 1 year of janitorial experience.
• Possess necessary skills and knowledge for the role.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Typical office-like conditions; physical demands include light work, exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.

FLSA Overtime Category

Nonexempt, subject to minimum wage and overtime laws.
