Job description

The Night Auditor will be responsible for conducting all nightly audit-related duties while providing guest service at the hotel's front desk. Audit responsibilities include balancing duties, completing daily paperwork, and shift reports. During these duties, the Night Auditor will attend to guest needs such as check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and answering questions.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Proactive thinking with guest security in mind, creating a safe, clean, and friendly environment.
  2. Counting cash and maintaining the accuracy of the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.
  3. Checking the front desk log for issues and special requests.
  4. Greeting, registering, and assigning rooms to guests.
  5. Processing guest registrations and payments.
  6. Preparing express checkout folios.
  7. Maintaining room status inventory.
  8. Communicating shift information to the Front Office Manager, General Manager, and desk staff.
  9. Maintaining cleanliness of the lobby and bathrooms as needed.
  10. Ensuring a smooth transition between shifts by communicating pertinent information.
  11. Collaborating with hotel departments to ensure high-quality customer service.
  12. Answering inquiries about hotel services, guest registration, and local directions, and explaining hotel features.
  13. Completing all shift paperwork and night audit reports daily.
  14. Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
