Job summary

Infant-Hearing-Specialists is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screener to perform newborn hearing screenings in a hospital setting. The role follows IHSS and hospital policies including infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance, while contributing to a positive team environment and sign confidentiality agreements.

Responsibilities include screening per state guidelines, maintaining equipment and records, HIPAA compliance, and providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum skill and proficiency in both oral and written communication and basic mathematical calculations as acquired through the completion of high school or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Screen newborns for hearing according to California, NHSP, and IHSS guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and proper patient identification and result labeling.
• Record results accurately in patient charts and maintain logs.
• Inventory supplies and report needs to the Area Manager.
• Maintain screening equipment and report malfunctions to Biomedical Engineering.
• Comply with HIPAA and maintain excellent customer service.
• Available to work weekends and holidays.
• Attend program meetings as directed by IHSS.
• Complete required clearance standards (influenza vaccination, TB test/X-ray, immunizations).
