Job summary

McFarland Clinic in Ames, IA is seeking a part-time NCS/EMG Tech to perform electrodiagnostic procedures and operate EMG equipment in a clinical setting. The role requires you to work with physicians, explain tests to patients, and schedule testing appointments.

You will gain experience and transition toward full-time as needed. Candidates should have a High School diploma or higher (BS/BA preferred in Kinesiology or Biology) and one year EMG experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or HiSET.
• BS or BA in Kinesiology or Biology.
• Prefer one year work experience doing EMG; strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrodiagnostic procedures in Clinic or Hospital.
• Operate electromyography equipment to assist physicians in tests such as nerve conduction studies (NCS) and muscle strength.
• Perform NCSs independently in routine settings.
• Explain the NCS test procedure to the patient.
• Schedule patients for testing.
