Job description

Part Time NADSP Certification Success Coach

Responsible for tracking, assisting, and monitoring the progress of an assigned cohort of students at a participating community agency. Primary duties include providing academic support, developing and conducting workshops, monitoring student academic progress, supporting continuous enrollment, and ensuring students receive information on available academic and student support services offered at SUNY Niagara or at their agency. Documentation of services and student progress is an essential requirement. Evening and/or weekend hours may be required. Must have a reliable internet connection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intake services and advisement to NADSP/OPWDD Grant students by assessing needs and providing resources on academic requirements, financial assistance, career exploration, and special support services.
  • Use a case management approach to guide students in managing their academic experience and engaging in activities that support completion of NADSP competencies.
  • Provide academic assistance, including help with homework completion, across NADSP competency areas.
  • Monitor and document student progress, meeting weekly to track NADSP competency goals.
  • Serve as a student advocate to enhance collaborative relationships and connect students with campus and agency resources that foster retention.
  • Work closely with partner agency contacts to schedule learning opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.
Essential Functions
  • Relate effectively to a diverse student population and academic personnel.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to travel between multiple locations from the agency and/or the NCCC Sanborn campus.
Required Qualifications
  • Successful completion of at least 30 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.0 or better.
  • Valid New York State driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with online learning platforms (e.g., Brightspace) and conferencing software (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Compensation

Advertised Salary: $22.52 - $24.76 per hour; pay rate varies with education level (Bachelor’s = $22.52/hr; Master’s = $24.76/hr).
