Job summary

Third Street Music School Settlement in New York invites a Part-Time Music Therapist to launch a brand-new clinical initiative. The in-person role requires one afternoon through early evening each week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays) with potential expansion as the program grows.

The ideal candidate will provide evidence-based sessions, design tailored experiences, collaborate with a Music Therapy Consultant and a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to community education and advocacy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in music therapy is required.
• MT-BC certification required.
• New York LCAT licensure (or pending) required.
• Strong clinical musicianship across guitar, piano, percussion, and voice.
• Minimum two years of diverse-population clinical experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Supervision experience for interns is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based music therapy sessions for individuals and small groups.
• Design and adapt therapeutic experiences to meet clients' clinical goals.
• Foster a safe, inclusive environment encouraging growth through music.
• Collaborate with the Music Therapy Consultant to develop and evaluate the new program.
• Work with educators, clinicians, and staff for integrated family support.
• Coordinate scheduling and communication with leadership.
• Support community events and internal trainings.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment plans.
• Prepare quarterly progress reports for clients.
• Participate in department meetings and professional development.
• Uphold access, equity, and inclusion in all practice areas.
