Job summary

SUNY Niagara seeks a part‑time Music Instructor to teach the Foundations of Music Theory, an introductory course covering melodic and rhythmic notation, clefs, scales, key signatures, rhythm principles and chord symbols. The course is designed for non‑music majors or students lacking prior music experience and will be delivered in‑person on the Sanborn campus.

The remuneration for this role is $1,008 per lecture hour and $903 per lab hour, with responsibilities including teaching the course on

Qualifications

• Three years of teaching experience at high school or college level.
• Master’s Degree in Music or related field (desired).
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Brightspace (desired).

Responsibilities

• Teach the Foundations of Music Theory on campus.
• Track attendance and report student learning outcomes at semester end.
• Report grades at the conclusion of the semester.
