Job summary

MACC is seeking candidates for part-time adjunct faculty positions contracted for a semester on a per credit hour basis. Availability depends on enrollment across MACC sites, and applicants are kept in a pool for three years.

Minimum qualification includes a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the subject area. Teaching experience is preferred and coursework may include day, evening, distance education, or any campus location.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 graduate hours in the subject area is required.
• Teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes assigned by the administration which could include day, evening, dual credit, distance education, or any campus location.
• Provide effective instruction with active learning activities and timely feedback on student progress.
• Develop course materials/lectures/labs and update regularly to ensure relevancy and alignment with syllabus.
• Provide students with a syllabus detailing expectations, major assignments, and evaluation methods.
• Maintain records of grades and attendance and submit by the established date.
• Maintain three office hours per week (if teaching at least nine credit hours) and share office hours with the appropriate dean.
• Follow college attendance policy and drop non-attending students in a timely manner.
• Refer at-risk students to available resources and interventions.
• Participate in program assessment and use feedback to improve learning outcomes.
• Attend faculty meetings if requested and communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and strategic priorities.
• Submit updated transcripts and show degrees earned for records.
