Job summary

MACC is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach courses based on enrollment at MACC sites. Positions are contracted per semester with pay per credit hour. Applicants are added to a pool for potential assignments and credentials kept on file for three years.

Requirements include a Master's degree in a related field and at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area; teaching experience is preferred. Availability includes day/evening/online classes across campuses.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum of 18 graduate hours in the subject area.
• Teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes assigned by the administration across various schedules and campus locations.
• Provide effective instruction with active learning and timely feedback.
• Develop course materials, lectures, and labs, updating them to stay current.
• Submit syllabus aligned with the common syllabus to the dean’s office by the second week of each semester.
• Utilize course-adopted textbook(s) and/or course resources.
• Maintain three office hours per week (if teaching at least nine credit hours) and provide a copy to the dean.
• Follow college-wide attendance policies and drop non-attending students in a timely manner.
• Refer at-risk students to available resources and interventions.
• Participate in program assessment and use feedback to improve outcomes.
• Attend faculty meetings if requested and maintain effective communication with students and colleagues.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and strategic plan priorities.
• Submit updated transcripts to HR and provide degrees earned.
