Job summary

Omaha Children’s Museum is seeking a Facilities Custodian to join our Administration team. This part-time, non-exempt role supports a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The schedule runs Saturday through Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with variations for events and rentals.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety awareness, and reliable performance in a busy museum setting. Candidates should be able to lift and move items, work in varied spaces, and uphold our commitment

• Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
• High level of accountability, punctuality and dependability.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize responsibilities and problem solve when needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas of the Museum: restrooms, floors, windows, exhibits and trash removal.
• Quickly respond to the needs of guests and all department team members.
• Determine and address safety concerns.
• Prepare for special events, facility rentals and internal meetings including room set-up and teardown.
• Assist with training new hires & cafe closing procedures.
• Prioritize customer service and assist guests while in public areas of the museum.
• Perform other department related duties as assigned.
