Job summary

UC Irvine Langson Orange County Museum of Art in Costa Mesa is seeking a part-time Engagement Guide to welcome visitors, support artwork safety, and highlight exhibitions. You will greet guests at the front desk and in galleries, helping connect audiences with current and upcoming programs.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, and good time management.
• Hospitality and customer service experience with strong interpersonal skills to ensure a positive visitor experience.
• Interest and knowledge of art, art history and/or museum collections and exhibitions.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and orient visitors at the front desk and in galleries, ensuring a welcoming experience.
• Facilitate meaningful conversations around current and upcoming artists and exhibitions.
• Highlight museum programs, tours, and special events to visitors.
• Participate in trainings outlining best practices for visitor engagement and artwork safety.
