Job summary

Talbot County Public Schools seeks a Judy Center Multilingual Family Support Facilitator to assist families with young children. This part-time, grant-funded role emphasizes culturally and linguistically appropriate support for Spanish-speaking families, including translation, outreach, and service coordination.

The facilitator collaborates with site coordinators and partners to promote school readiness, connect families to resources, and conduct community outreach across Talbot County.

Qualifications

• AA/Bachelor in Education/ECE/Social Work or related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, orally and in writing.
• Experience in Early Childhood Education, social work, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with young children.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Experience coordinating services and collaborating with multiple agencies/service providers.
• Experience in community outreach, family support services, or early childhood education.
• Ability to relate positively to colleagues, children and families and maintain trust.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow through on tasks.

Responsibilities

• Offer translation and interpretation services in Spanish to ensure clear communication.
• Develop and distribute multilingual educational materials for families.
• Participate in recruitment and enrollment and maintain data on enrolled families.
• Advise families on services available through Judy Center and partners.
• Support families and make referrals; follow up to ensure services are received.
• Distribute handouts/brochures of interest to parents (child care options, health issues, development).
• Collaborate with site coordinator and partners for outreach activities and events.
• Perform community outreach to recruit new families to Judy Center programs.
• Maintain timely communication with the site coordinator about new information or needs.
• Attend scheduled partner meetings and ISP/IEP meetings as appropriate.
