Job summary

Henry Ford College presents an opportunity for a Professional Math Tutor (Peer Tutor Plus). The Peer Tutor Plus provides individualized and small-group tutoring support to HFC students, interacting mainly with students, faculty, and staff.

Tutors deliver in-person tutoring and demonstrate strong subject-matter knowledge, helping students deepen understanding of course material. This is a part-time position (maximum 20 hours per week) with semesterly renewal.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or 60+ college credits within the target program/subject.
• Highly conversant at developmental level and able to tutor a range of courses in the program.
• Ability to tutor students individually and in groups, guiding understanding and skill acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group tutoring to Henry Ford College students.
• Interact with students, faculty, and staff to support student learning.
• Demonstrate subject-matter knowledge and effective learning strategies for course material.
• Deliver tutoring in person in a computer lab classroom.
• Maintain records and participate in training and development activities.
