Job summary

Eastern New Mexico University – Roswell is seeking a part-time, temporary tutor to assist students in grades 6 through 12 in a classroom setting. You will collaborate with faculty and support the GEAR UP program under the supervision of the GEAR UP Academic Advisor.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling, group study sessions, and adapting to diverse student needs while maintaining strong communication with staff and students.

Qualifications

• Excellent grades in subjects applicable to the tutoring assignment.
• Must be at least 16 years of age and have reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and Blackboard.
• Ability to travel within a 50-mile radius.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Promote student success and retention through effective tutoring in English, Mathematics, Science, Health and other academic subjects.
• Support students across a range of ability levels.
• Collaborate closely with faculty to support classroom instruction.
• Facilitate group study sessions.
• Demonstrate awareness of and responsiveness to the diverse backgrounds and needs of students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
