Job summary

Montville Public Schools seeks a part-time monitor to supervise students in the cafeteria, playground, hallways, and other areas as assigned, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.

The role involves promoting student safety, documenting behavior issues, and assisting staff. This position covers up to 15 hours per week at $18.81 per hour, Monday through Friday, with duties including injury reporting and collaboration with teachers and nurses.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise students in the cafeteria, on the playground, in the hallways, and/or other area assigned
• Promote student safety by ensuring an orderly environment in which students adhere to school regulations and expectations
• Develop positive relationships with students by recognizing appropriate behaviors and treating every student with dignity
• Address inappropriate behavior with calm verbal reminders
• Report significant or repeated misbehavior to the classroom teacher or administrator
• Report any student injuries immediately to the school nurse
• Support and communicate with other monitors and staff members
• Ensure that no child is left unsupervised
• Escort students in hallways
• Provide written reports of significant behavior issues and student injuries

Daily Schedule: 10:50 A.M.-1:50 P.M. M-F (up to 15 hours per week)

Range - $18.81 per hour
