Job summary

Colorado College seeks an Occasional Head Coach for the Mock Trial Program to organize and run the team on Main Campus, ensuring AMTA compliance in all activities. The role requires an active on-site presence and travel to tournaments as needed.

Responsibilities include coaching, jury preparation, schedule coordination, and budget oversight. Ideal candidates have a JD or related BA with coaching experience, strong writing skills, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • JD preferred or bachelor’s degree plus four years of mock trial coaching experience.
  • Excellent speech writing skills.
  • Proficient with computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and handle confidential information.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct the Mock Trial Program in compliance with AMTA rules.
  • Travel as necessary and maintain a strong on-campus presence (75% on-site).
  • Coach students in trial prep, openings, examinations, and objections.
  • Coordinate tournament schedules and secure travel arrangements.
  • Maintain records and report expenditures to the Speaking Center.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and equity within the program.
