Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking an MLS Part-Time Days technician to perform analytical testing of blood and specimens. This role involves maintaining equipment, following SOPs, and supporting laboratory processes with a focus on accuracy and quality control.

You will train staff, assist leadership in performance improvement activities, and may have on-call or weekend duties as needed. Strong English communication and multitasking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• MLS (ASCP) certification or CLIA equivalency requirement.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to varying priorities; overtime/weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analytical testing of blood and human specimens following SOPs.
• Perform pre-analytical and post-analytical activities; report results accurately.
• Maintain equipment and spaces; ensure quality control and safety compliance.
• Assist leadership; train new employees and support performance improvement efforts.
