Job summary

DREAM is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Coach to support our middle school athletics program at East Harlem. You will help run practices, supervise athletes, and reinforce teamwork and sportsmanship in a structured after-school setting.

The role reports to the Dean of Student Life and aligns with the Head Coach. Start date is November 30, 2026, with practices Monday-Thursday 3-6pm and occasional evenings/weekends. Location: East Harlem, NY.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years coaching or youth program experience preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children required.
• Understanding of sport rules and fundamentals required.
• Ability to support youth development and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Support structured, high-quality practices and lead when head coach is absent.
• Execute drills with energy and clarity.
• Reinforce behavior, effort, and participation.
• Maintain active supervision and safety protocols at all times.
• Assist with game-day logistics and team management.
