Job summary

DREAM is seeking a reliable Assistant Coach to support our East Harlem middle school athletics program. The role focuses on supervising practices, implementing drills, and fostering a positive, structured experience for all athletes.

You will contribute to a safe environment, reinforce youth development competencies, and assist with attendance and game-day logistics. The position is part-time, with evening/weekend games and a September–November commitment at DREAM’s East Harlem/ Bronx locations.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of coaching or youth program experience preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children required.
• Understanding of the sport’s rules and fundamentals required.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support structured practices and lead when the head coach is unavailable.
• Execute drills with clarity, energy and attention to detail.
• Reinforce expectations for behavior, effort and participation.
• Support attendance tracking for practices and games.
• Assist with game-day logistics and team management.
• Communicate promptly with the Head Coach about concerns.
