Job summary

DREAM is hiring a reliable Middle School Co-Ed Soccer Assistant Coach to support our athletics program in East Harlem and the South Bronx. You will help run structured practices, supervise students, and ensure safe, positive experiences after school hours.

This part-time role reports to the Dean of Student Life and Head Coach, starts immediately, with practices Monday-Thursday, 3-6pm, and occasional games. CPR/First Aid preferred and alignment with DREAM's mission is valued.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of coaching or youth program experience.
• Experience working with school-age children required.
• Understanding of the sport’s rules and fundamentals required.
• Ability to effectively support youth development and behavior management.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• CPR/First Aid certification, a plus.
• Strong alignment with DREAM’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of structured, high-quality practices.
• Lead drills and activities with energy and clarity when head coach is absent.
• Reinforce behavior expectations and participation.
• Maintain active supervision at all times.
• Assist with attendance tracking for practices and games.
• Support game-day logistics and team management.
• Communicate promptly with the Head Coach about concerns or updates.
• Uphold safety protocols consistently.
