As a Merchandiser with American Greetings, you are a vital part of our company’s purpose: helping people celebrate holidays, each other, and all of life’s special moments, by making the world a more thoughtful and caring place every single day. We are looking for merchandisers to work independently across various retail locations, showcasing their organization and time management skills to display and maintain inventory levels of our celebrations products, including greeting cards, gift wrap accessories, party goods, plush, and more.

Pay:

• The starting pay is $11.70 per hour with two increases during the first year of employment (the listed rates are subject to change based on work location).
• After 6 months of employment, the pay rate will increase to $12.40.
• After 1 year of continued employment, the pay rate will increase to $13.00.

Route & Schedule:

This route will service the following retail locations:

• Primary Work location: 1723 McFarland Rd, Junction City, KS 66441
• Additional Locations: 618 W 6th St, 1816 Patriot Drive, 1940 North Monroe St, 910 W 6th St, and 211 S Franklin St.

The weekly average hours are 5 hours per week, which may increase to an average of 10 hours per week around holidays.

Ideal candidate: would be available during daytime hours, especially Monday mornings, due to store needs and service.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Service stores on your assigned route, including merchandising, organizing product orders, displaying products within greeting card departments, maintaining organized backroom areas, and other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management regarding service or schedule questions or concerns.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment, utilizing effective time management and organizational skills.
• Build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime retail hours.
• Be available for additional working days and extended hours around major holidays.
• Assist with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal as requested.
• Review and plan weekly service schedules and workload using a company-issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Experience Required:

No experience necessary; training will be provided.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Reliable transportation to access multiple retail locations.
• Reliable internet access for receiving critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency to learn and use a company-provided tablet.
• Availability to meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends and days around major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).

Physical Demands:

Work involves standing, walking, stooping, squatting, and the ability to push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and fixtures up to 40 pounds throughout the sales floor and backrooms. Use of a stepstool may be required for some tasks. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
