Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Somerville, NJ seeks a part-time Mental Health Screener to support the Emergency Screening team. The role involves answering hotlines, coordinating with psychiatry staff, and delivering timely, quality patient care within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications include a BA/BS or current Master's program with crisis-experience, NJ driver's license, and BLS certification. Day shift, 24 hours/week; salary ranges depending on experience.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in related field with 3 years psychiatric experience, 1 in crisis setting.
• Or enrollment in Master's program with 2 years psychiatric experience, 1 in crisis setting.
• Must possess and maintain a valid NJ state driver's license.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones professionally and timely across multiple lines.
• Communicate clinical information effectively with Screening psychiatrist and team.
• Coordinate with health care team to support patient treatment plans.
• Interact with Screening RN in Charge to align patient disposition.
• Conduct thorough ongoing assessments per departmental guidelines.
• Document assessments and interventions in the EMR in a timely manner.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and Screening Documents as required.
