Job summary

Westminster Baldwin Park, part of Westminster Communities of Florida, seeks an Activities Assistant for its Memory Care facility. You will plan, develop, and direct the activities program to meet residents’ interests and abilities, reporting to the Director of Memory Care.

The role requires 1–2 years in recreational activities for seniors, familiarity with dementia, and a passion for crafts, art, and theater.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in recreational activity programs for senior adults preferred.
• Must be familiar with individuals who suffer from dementia or willing to learn about them.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily, hands-on activities promoting well-being and security for residents.
• Implement age-appropriate activities considering abilities and dignity.
• Update and maintain Resident Likes & Dislikes for planning.
• Fill in Daily Activity Boards on each floor with dates and times.
• Maintain records of attendance and any behavioral notes affecting participation.
• Submit documentation to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Assist with purchasing materials for daily or monthly activities.
• Promote activities and encourage resident participation.
