Washington University in St. Louis is seeking Standardized Patients to support WashU Medicine under the supervision of the Immersive Learning Center in Saint Louis, MO. SPs portray patients during simulated encounters for health profession learners.

SPs participate in training, provide verbal and written feedback, and follow university guidelines. This is a part-time, as-needed position with scheduling determined by curricular needs.

Responsibilities

• Portray patients using standardized scripts, including being interviewed and examined by students in non-invasive examinations.
• Assess learners using provided checklist and provide verbal and written feedback.
• Attend and participate in training sessions for case portrayal and checklist calibration.
• Study and learn scripts for accurate portrayals.
• Observe other SPs and be observed during sessions for training and calibration.
• Assist in session administration, including set-up and break-down.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
