Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks Medical Laboratory Technicians to support high quality clinical testing in a hospital laboratory, including specimen processing, routine testing, QC, and instrument troubleshooting.

The role is PRN, on-site with 12 scheduled hours per week. Requires an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; ASCP BOC or equivalent certification (or within the first year). Training and education participation is expected.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP BOC or equivalent; if not certified, certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample assessment, receiving, accessioning, processing, and testing to support patient results.
• Performs routine laboratory testing using approved methods and evaluates results.
• Performs quality control testing and instrument maintenance to ensure accuracy.
• Assists with training and orientation of new staff and students as assigned.
• Notifies/Documents critical test results per policy and ensures data is accurately recorded.
