Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related medical or scientific discipline with 0-1 year experience.
• Certification by the ASCP BOC; registry eligible and must obtain certification within the first year of employment.
• Must have passed a recognized Certification Examination for Medical Technologist (MLS/CLS).

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for testing and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Perform specialized laboratory tests and quality control procedures.
• Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and perform preventive maintenance.
• Communicate technical information to medical and lay persons.
