Job summary

Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Part-Time Medical Laboratory Technician Instructor who will direct the program and teach postsecondary CTE content. Candidates must be a certified Medical Laboratory Technician with a bachelor’s degree and several years of teaching experience, or a master’s with fewer years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

Certified Medical Laboratory Technician in one or more medical lab settings.
Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of teaching experience OR Master's degree with 3 years of teaching experience.
Students attend class Monday–Friday from 7:30am–2:30pm; part-time instructor hours may be adjusted to program needs.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements instruction of content area(s)/course(s) assigned per state standards and district curriculum.
Creates a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport.
Delivers relevant and rigorous lessons to maximize student engagement and achievement.
Uses diverse teaching practices to meet individual student needs and backgrounds.
Maintains student records, grades, and attendance; observes and evaluates performance.
