Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a part-time, intermittent faculty member to contribute to didactic and simulation-based learning in emergency medicine and related fields. Responsibilities include course development, student assessment, and adherence to accreditation requirements while maintaining instructor certification where applicable.

This role supports teaching professionals, trainees, and clinicians, preparing lesson plans, monitoring performance, and delivering current information on course

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school or foreign equivalent
• Current medical licensure is desirable
• Certification in relevant specialty is desirable
• Clinical experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine, neurology, anesthesiology or ultrasound sonography is desirable
• Experience with didactic and/or simulation teaching is desirable

Responsibilities

• Participate in course development and quality improvements
• Provide didactic and/or simulation instruction
• Assess participant performance
• Maintain instructor certification where applicable (e.g., ACLS)
• Prepare lesson plans and monitor student progress
• Ensure compliance with continuing education/ accreditation requirements
• Disseminate course requirements and objectives to students
• Adhere to University policies and safeguard assets
