Job summary

Cornerstone Clinical Partners in Thomasville, NC seeks a part-time Medical Director / Attending Physician to oversee the delivery of care for residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. You will lead clinical staff, guide quality improvement efforts, participate in credentialing, and implement new clinical programs while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• CMD certification preferred.
• Extensive experience in long-term care (LTC) or skilled nursing facility settings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes in LTC.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Prolonged standing/walking; occasional lifting up to 20 lbs; computer work.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing oversight, mentorship, and clinical guidance to medical staff to maintain high standards of care.
• Foster a collaborative environment that promotes best practices and continuous professional development.
• Lead the interview and credentialing process for prospective medical staff.
• Chair or co-chair the QAPI Committee on a quarterly basis.
• Assist in DOH survey preparedness and regulatory compliance.
• Lead implementation of new clinical programs and initiatives.
• Stay informed of geriatric and LTC advancements to evolve the facility's clinical offerings.
• Provide direct patient care to residents, ensuring high-quality clinical treatment.
