Qualifications

• Technical diploma in Medical Coding and one of the following coding certifications (AAPC, CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA)
• Expectation to obtain an Associate's degree in health information technology within three years of hire
• Expectation to obtain RHIT or RHIA certification within three years of hire
• Two years or 4,000 hours of related work experience

Responsibilities

• Instruct Medical Coding Specialist courses including Foundations of Health Information Management, Health Care Reimbursement, and Management of Coding Services.
• Develop and plan instructional strategies and alternative delivery methods (hybrid, face-to-face, online).
• Advise students and assist with assignments, tests, grades, and career concerns.
• Maintain competencies as an instructor per the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
• Support student work experiences through internships or team projects.
