Job summary

Kilgore College is seeking a Part Time Medical Assistant Instructor to assist the Medical Assistant program instructor in delivering instruction and hands-on training for entry-level medical assisting responsibilities. You will support classroom activities, supervise clinical skills, assess students, and provide instructional support in Kilgore, TX.

Qualifications

• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential or equivalent certification required, consistent with the program’s requirements.
• Relevant experience in medical assisting or a related healthcare setting.
• Teaching, training, mentoring, or precepting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative procedures relevant to medical assisting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and student-support skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the primary instructor and follow established course plans and program procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary instructor with classroom instruction, demonstrations, review sessions, and guided learning activities.
• Help students understand course concepts and complete assigned learning activities while following the instructor’s course plan.
• Use approved instructional materials, presentations, and multimedia resources to support student learning.
• Assist with demonstrations and supervised practice of medical assisting skills, including vital signs, EKGs, injections, laboratory procedures, and other skills included in the approved curriculum.
• Observe students during skills practice and provide guidance and corrective feedback within the adjunct’s qualifications and assigned responsibilities.
• Help prepare, organize, and maintain classroom and skills-lab supplies and equipment.
• Assist with quizzes, examinations, practical assessments, skills check-offs, and other evaluations as directed by the primary instructor.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and communicate concerns about student progress or performance to the primary instructor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the effective delivery of the Medical Assistant program.
