Job summary

Spero Health is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our team in Lebanon, KY. This role supports integrated care, including counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment, within an interdisciplinary team.

Key duties include scheduling, patient check-in/out, vitals, urine drug screens, medication calls, insurance authorizations, EHR data entry, and cash/benefit verification. CPR certification required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• 1–3 years as a Medical Assistant or similar role.
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred.
• Experience with injections preferred.
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain) required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments.
• Answer incoming calls and check voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out and monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, take vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medications as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
• Send prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medication.
