Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Cedar City Instacare is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support our clinical team in providing compassionate patient care in an ambulatory setting. The role involves gathering visit information, assisting providers, and communicating with patients by phone and in person.

The position requires MA training or relevant experience, BLS certification, and basic computer/EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• This position requires completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of MA work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in Utah.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, must be obtained prior to start date.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high levels of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Utah Only: MA residency program if certified with less than one year MA experience.
• Experience in outpatient clinic or healthcare setting preferred.
• Computer literacy in using EMR systems and other relevant software.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the clinician's direction and assist the provider in gathering information related to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Communicate clearly with patients seeking care via telephone and in person.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patient care; attention to detail and follow-through are essential.
