Job summary

Concentra in Richmond, VA is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support clinicians and manage patient flow. Schedule: M, W, F 8a-5p. You will perform vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, vaccines, and assist in examinations while providing a positive patient experience.

The role requires completion of a medical assistant program or related experience, HIPAA compliance, and strong customer service. It also involves clerical duties and daily center operations to ensure smooth visits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, OR at least one year of direct patient care experience.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred.
• HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Responsible for routine medical procedures and triaging emergent patients as needed.
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedure setup and injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME as ordered.
