Job summary

SQA Services is hiring a Quality Mechanical Source Inspector for Hartford, CT. The role is part-time, first shift, 20‑30 hours per week across 3–4 days. Mileage reimbursement and travel-pay time are provided, with standard US mileage at gov't rate and 50% travel-time pay.

ITAR compliance is required. Responsibilities include precision verifications on mechanical parts and assemblies, reading drawings, and ensuring conformance to specifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection.
• Read and interpret manufacturing drawings and standards.
• Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions using hand tools.
• Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and software.
• Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.
• Itar compliance is required.
• Willing to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials.
• Inspect purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies for conformance to drawings.
• Perform surface plate inspection of first article, in-process, and lot samples when required.
• Utilize inspection equipment (micrometers, gauge blocks, indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, CMMs).
• Verify documentation packages to relevant standards.
• Classify defect types and verify rework during inspection.
