Job summary

Worcester Polytechnic Institute is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach day and/or evening classes for the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department, at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Start dates will vary by course and semester. Qualified applicants will be contacted when openings arise. A PhD in related discipline is preferred; a master's degree is required. Compensation: $7,000-$7,500 per course. WPI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with significant practical experience; undergraduate/graduate teaching experience preferred.
• Willingness to teach in other areas as needed.
• PhD in related discipline preferred; master's degree in related discipline required.

Responsibilities

• Teach from established curriculum with personal expertise and experience; provide students with timely feedback.
• Grade and assess student work.
• Experience with online teaching and Canvas LMS is preferred but not required.
