Job summary

Think Zone Learning Center in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a part-time Math Tutor to support K–8 students with personalized, one-on-one instruction. The role emphasizes clear explanations, patience, and a passion for helping students build confidence and skills in math and English.

This position runs June 2, 2026 through December 31, 2026 with 2–4 hours per day, three days a week, and pay of $20 per hour. Additional hours may be available, making this a flexible entry into TAL Education Group's

Qualifications

• Strong math proficiency with ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Clear communication to explain math concepts in an easy-to-understand way.

What You Will Do

• Provide personalized, one-on-one math instruction to K–8 students based on their individual learning needs and goals

• Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that builds student confidence and a positive attitude toward mathematics

• Maintain professional and positive communication with parents and students, building strong relationships and addressing student progress

Qualifications

• Strong math proficiency, with at least a high school diploma or equivalent; higher education or a background in education is a plus


• Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to explain math concepts in an easy-to-understand way


• Patience and empathy when working with students of varying ages, abilities, and confidence levels


• Ability to personalize instruction based on individual student needs, learning styles, and progress


• Strong organizational skills to track student performance and manage multiple learning plans


• Genuine passion for education and a desire to support students in building confidence and math skills


• Reliable and professional, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to student success

Schedule

We are seeking reliable individuals available to work 2–4 hours per day, three times per week, with a strong preference for weekend availability.

Pay Range: $20.00/hour
