Job summary

Chattanooga State is seeking part-time Math Tutors to support students at the Ed Nichols Math Center, reporting to the Math Coordinator and ASC Director. Tutors will assist with tutoring, outreach, and processing academic support across all math levels.

The role emphasizes teaching excellence, holistic student support, and program innovation within the Academic Success Center to enhance student success and persistence.

Qualifications

• Achieved A’s in college math through Calculus I or higher with faculty recommendation.
• Experience assisting students in an academic setting.
• Knowledge of basic academic skills applications and successful use of learning technology.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Passion for student success and ability to work with computers and learning technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide math tutoring to students at all levels.
• Maintain regular hours in person and online.
• Assist with events and outreach to promote the math center.
• Support administration with scheduling and office duties.
• Participate in staff training and CRLA training.
