Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking a math tutor to bridge the gap between instructors and students, helping to improve understanding and academic performance. The tutor will provide small group and one-on-one sessions and set objectives with each student.

You will support students in college algebra, finite, calculus when needed, and assist with Excel and related software. This 12–15 hour per week, part-time role offers a collaborative environment and opportunities to contribute to

Qualifications

Knowledge of content area through prior coursework or work experience.
Excellent communication skills, and ability to work with a diverse student body.
Preferred qualifications include a degree in a related area with tutoring or teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Provide small group and one-on-one tutoring in college algebra, finite, and quantitative reasoning.
Assist students with calculus when needed.
Teach and guide use of Microsoft Excel and related software.
Set objectives and tutoring goals with each student and support study skills.
Work independently or collaboratively with other tutors.
Operate computers, printers, and other hardware as needed.
