Job summary

Lamar Institute of Technology is seeking a part-time, exempt Instructor of Math to teach courses for students enrolled in Math programs. Classes will be delivered at the Sam Houston State University Campus and reports are to the Department Chair of General Education.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction, maintaining professionalism, attending adjunct faculty meetings, and assessing courses. Requires a Master’s in Math or related credentials plus strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

Master's degree in Math or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours in Math.
Knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

Teach courses as scheduled and actively engage students in the learning process.
Maintain ethical and professional behavior.
Attend adjunct faculty meetings.
Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels.
Complete required training (e.g., Blackboard Online Instructor Certification, Title IX, FERPA).
Utilize institutional resources to continuously improve teaching skills.
Adhere to TSUS and LIT policies and procedures.
